Job Description Summary
The Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School of the
University of Pennsylvania provides thought leadership to the real
estate community through support of cutting-edge research for
current and future business leaders and policy makers, the
facilitation of a partnership between industry professionals and
our faculty and students, and the training of the future leadership
of the real estate industry.
The Center's thought leadership includes innovative inquiries,
excellence in education, a strong commitment to making research
accessible, and provision of a forum for the real estate community
to discuss critical issues.
The Center is currently looking for a Program Coordinator to assist
and manage many of the different facets of the Center. Both a
resume and cover letter are required to fulfill the
application.
Job Description
This individual will assist with the execution of all Center events
and programs, most notably the Fall and Spring Members' Meetings,
VIP events and with coordination of the Center's international
programming. Other events the candidate will assist with
coordinating and executing include the Career Fair, Ballard
Executive Visitor series, and the Schlager Lecture. May require
travel to NYC or other domestic locations as well as occasional
international travel (Asia, Europe, etc). Oversees event management
details, particularly those related to registration of our most
generous donors.
Assist with preparation of Director's Reports as well as the State
of the Center presentation, among other reports and
publications.
Serves as the resident expert on the various software needed to
create and deliver Center publications, including Adobe InDesign,
the graphic design tool website Canva, the Center website (which
runs off WordPress and which primarily requires communicating with
an outside Wharton web design team) and the mailing software
Constant Contact. Monitors student programming of the annual
activities of the five student real estate clubs. Monitors
publications and communications created or revised by the
Administrative Coordinators to ensure all formatting and content
meets Center standards.
Maintains Zell/Lurie Real Estate Center branding, including website
design. Maintains a social media presence and strikes the correct
balance with media outlets and marketing for the Center. Monitors
student programming of the annual activities of the five student
real estate clubs. Leads follow-up efforts after monthly student
real estate club meetings. Tracks all partner participation in
student events in order to include in Year in Review and
acknowledgments to members and industry participants. Coordinates
the two to three yearly Argus trainings sponsored by the Center.
Oversees the Helfand Bluhm term gift and its administration.
Oversees the activities and programs of all clubs to ensure funding
is appropriately spent. Monitors publications and communications
created or revised by the Administrative Coordinators to ensure all
formatting and content meets Center standards. Creates publications
and reports for review by Manager and Directing Manager. Oversees
the creation and revision of publications with limited supervision
from the Manager, including but not limited to: agendas for the
Spring and Fall Members' Meetings and other Zell/Lurie events, the
Year in Review, the membership packet, and the winter
newsletter.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent
combination of education and experience is required. Must be able
to work independently, multi-task, maintain confidential
information and work with a diverse population. Excellent verbal,
organizational, interpersonal, and written skills a must.
Proficient PC skills, knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator,
Microsoft Office Suite and large database programs required; skills
with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and
Google applications preferred. Must be able to work collaboratively
and effectively with a variety of people on a plethora of tasks.
Knowledge of virtual platforms is a plus.
