Color SpecialistA leading U.S. manufacturer of innovative architectural weatherproofing solutions is seeking an experienced Color Specialist to support and eventually lead our color team. Our advanced color technology is applied across a range of urethane, silicone, STPU-based sealants, as well as waterborne adhesives and coatings, serving the commercial construction and waterproofing industries.Essential Functions: - - - - - - - - -Perform color matching using spectrophotometer and color software, adjusting formulas to achieve desired results. - - - - - - - - -Weigh, mix, and prepare samples for customer approval, entering accurate color formulas. - - - - - - - - -Manage and maintain a complete color library, including control-related procedures. - - - - - - - - -Track and document metrics, follow-up, and manage customer color sample submissions. - - - - - - - - -Check and compare color samples with library and production history for accurate matches. - - - - - - - - -Test incoming raw materials and adjust production batches as needed to meet specifications. - - - - - - - - -Maintain and calibrate lab equipment, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with stakeholders.Desired Skills: - - - - - - - - -Proficient in color theory, color matching, and use of color software/spectrophotometers. - - - - - - - - -Basic chemistry and lab experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - - - - - - - - -Skilled in identifying issues, analyzing data, and generating innovative solutions. - - - - - - - - -Strong customer relations, interpersonal, and professional communication skills. - - - - - - - - -Excellent math skills, attention to detail, and safety awareness. - - - - - - - - -Self-starter with proven ability to plan, prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments. - - - - - - - - -Team player with leadership qualities and ability to grow into a subject matter expert. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Educational/Experience Requirements: - - - - - - - - -Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field, Color Science strongly preferred. - - - - - - - - -5 to 10 years of demonstrated related experience, preferably in an industrial color environment.
