Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Stroke Unit, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, 3 x 12-hour shifts, Every Other Weekend Required, Holidays Required as Needed Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years prior RN experience working in a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit in a major acute care hospital setting is required. License: NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA Must-Have: Strong Medical-Surgical/Telemetry background Job Description: - Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care. - Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient needs. - Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. - Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments. - Initiate assessments based on patient problems or needs, physician's medical diagnosis, and functional health framework. - Perform therapeutic nursing interventions. - Manage care of patients. - Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities. - Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery. - Provide patient-centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model. - Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Please note: This position includes a float requirement to other units, except Labor and Delivery and CCU/ICU. Preferred qualifications include NIHSS stroke certification and Telemetry certification. Proficiency in English is required.
