OverviewThe Attending Psychiatrist is responsible for providing
psychiatric services at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in
one or more of the following environments: Crisis, Emergency,
Inpatient, Outpatient, Consults, Community, and/or Outreach.The
Attending Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric consultation,
evaluation, and treatment to children, adolescents and their
families. The Attending Psychiatrist works collaboratively with
psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other mental health
professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.What you will do
Provide assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and their
families in a manner consistent with the policies and procedures of
the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Comply with the
documentation requirements of the Department of Child and
Adolescent Psychiatry Support the policies and procedures of the
Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Support the quality
initiatives and budgetary goals set for the department. Regularly
participate in clinical and administrative meetings related to the
operations of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Provide supervision and teaching for the Child Psychiatry
residents, general psychiatry residents, other specialties
requiring psychiatry training, and medical students. Comply with
scheduling and billing practices of the Department of Child and
Adolescent Psychiatry. Support implementation of information
systems to support clinical care needs, patient appointment
scheduling and processing, and patient documentation. Participate
in the identification and implementation of opportunities to
enhance patient and family satisfaction. Participate in efforts to
ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and other
applicable accreditation and regulatory standards.Education
Qualifications Doctorate Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
RequiredSkills and Abilities Ability to work collaboratively with a
multidisciplinary team - Required Communication skills needed to
present goals clearly - Required Demonstrated ability to work
effectively with children, adolescents, and families - Required Be
visible and present as a leader, remain sensitive to daily hospital
operations, act as an escalation point for operational concerns
