Investment Funds - Associates
Join a prestigious, international AMLAW 50 law firm, actively seeking mid to senior-level Investment Funds Associates for expanding operations in New York and Charlotte. This critical role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your investment management and fund formation expertise within a dynamic, high-caliber environment. You will be crucial in navigating complex transactions and contributing to the firm's growth by providing innovative solutions that meet evolving investment standards. This position combines high-level legal tasks with a focus on quality client service and business development to shape the future of legal practices in the investment funds arena.
Compensation: $310,000.00 - $420,000.00
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide expert legal analysis and guidance on the structuring, formation, and management of investment vehicles, including hedge funds, private equity funds, and venture capital funds.
  • Draft and negotiate complex legal documents related to fund formation and operations, including partnership agreements, subscription agreements, and investment advisory contracts.
  • Advise on compliance and regulatory issues affecting funds and management companies, navigating both domestic and international legal frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tax, compliance, and operations, to deliver comprehensive legal services and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Engage directly with clients, providing timely and business-savvy legal advice, sustaining and enhancing client relationships through high-quality service and communication.
  • Contribute to business development activities within the investment management sector, identifying opportunities for firm growth and strategic partnerships.

    Minimum Position Qualifications:

    • Graduation from a top-tier law school with excellent academic credentials.
    • A minimum of four years' experience specializing in investment management and fund formation.
    • Significant exposure to regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to investment funds, with a proven record of navigating complex investment landscapes.
    • Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to develop innovative solutions to sophisticated legal issues.
    • Superb written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to clearly articulate complex legal concepts.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a larger team, with a commitment to achieving firm-wide objectives.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Prior experience in a leading international law firm with a robust investment funds practice.
      • Additional credentials or certifications related to finance or securities regulations.
      • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management within a legal context.
      • Deep understanding of cross-border transactions and international investment principles.
      • Prior experience mentoring junior associates and leading project teams.
